NB News
On Saturday The Nihitaa' Binaanish Board of Directors met in Bread Springs NM to review progress and make plans how to serve Diné Bikeyah (Navajo Land.) NB will continue to spread the love of Christ through prayer, self-help training and assistance. Directors were elected to serve two year terms and revisions were made to the by-laws, along with financial reporting and fundraising.
Last year, NB assisted a family with plumbing repair to allow them access to running water. NB also helped another family relocate into mobile home and installed a new floor. NB repaired a roof of a family's home that had massive leaks making most of the place uninhabitable. The organization built a handicap access ramp for the family of an elderly woman who was in a wheelchair. NB delivered numerous loads of firewood for families to stay warm throughout the treacherous weather we had this winter. They continue to provide personal guidance and skill training to their interns. Finally, the organization made numerous benevolent contributions to families in need. Nihitaa' Binaanish does great things for its community with a small budget. In the future, Nihitaa' Binanish wants to do more in Diné Bikeyah. They need a paid executive director to manage the projects. Currently the entire NB staff is volunteers. The majority of the work is done by Fred and Lorainne Thomas. NB would also like to expand its mobile fleet with an enlarged utility trailor to contain more equipment and allow workers to stand while working inside the trailor. All of this will require more funding. The Nihitaa' Binaanish Board of Directors feel blessed to be able to make a difference in Diné Bikeyah and are gratefull for all the support and donations they recieved in the past year. They look forward to seeing what God has planned for next year.
